4020 radiator

My 4020 deisel is in need of a new radiator. I clicked on "tractor parts" here on this site and found the radiator for my tractor. Anyone have experience with them? Are they good quality or would I be better off with a recore of my radiator? Thanks.

In my experience I just install new from Deere. Been disappointed w/after market ones and there is no longer a radiator shop near. Recores weren't that much cheaper. If customer wants to haul them 40 miles to get repaired that's different.

I have had good luck with A&I radiaters,they are made in Ireland.We have four right now with the oldest being ten years old.I have sold several others over the years as well.Some people do not like them and sometimes you need to do a little work to get them to fit such as the fan shroud holes may not line up.Stay away from any China ones.

Most aftermarket radiators are junk, cheap, missing parts and proper dimensions. Recore the original radiator for about the same price as an aftermarket one. I guarantee you'll be much happier.

Neighbor bought an A&I radiator for his 4010 a couple years ago. He had to grind on the hood because the overflow was a bit off. There was also a baffle just inside the neck so you can't see inside to check antifreeze. Other than that it works fine. I bought a John Deere radiator for my 4010 shortly after. I figured with the trouble he had JD's should be better. I had to grind on the hood as well but at least I can check my antifreeze.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

My neighbor put an China made aftermarket radiator on his 4320 and it was fine for a year or so, then sprung leaks.

I can get mine recored at a reputable radiator shop just 25 miles or so from here for ~$450. The guy at the radiator shop made a good point about keeping the original tanks so that"s the way I"ll go. Thanks again.
