4020 remove muffler

I'd appreciate any tips on how to remove the muffler on my 4020. Clamp is off but it won't budge - all least not being civil with it.
 
hearing it up with a torch will expand the pipe a bit,,taping around it with the ball pien end of a hammer will help too...
 
Per the 1966 John Deere service bulletin start the engine when removing the muffler so pieces of carbon and rotten muffler don?t get inside the engine
 
I split them in several places with a grinder then use a cold chisel to spread the old muffler flange apart sometimes you have to cut almost all the metal away before it?ll come . A torch is a good idea if you have one
 

I just replaced my muffler with a straight pipe on my 4430. Was siezed solid too, took 15 min with the cutting disk and a good common screw driver. Just take your time try not to cut the cast manifold.
