AH welcome to YT! Gas or diesel? If it is a diesel it
probably needs the injection pump rebuilt. Likely
caused by the governor weight assembly flex ring
breaking apart. Being exposed to the fuel, heat and
time it becomes hard and starts breaking to pieces.
The pieces float around in the pump and get lodged in
to the wrong places and cause this kind of symptom.
Let us see if others confirm. I will link a bit more info
about one for sale, it shows a photo of it being
replaced. However, this is not a job for the average Jo.
There is a gentleman that posts on this forum as
Dieseltech. He runs a pump rebuild shop in Indiana.
Many on here ship their pumps to him to be rebuilt.
Always hear how good of job he does and many
comment on his reasonable pricing. Hopefully, he will
see your post and comment.
