4020 Starter Clicking

Hello,

I have a 4020 with a 24 volt starter which starts, but the starter makes a loud clicking sound while the tractor is starting. If anyone can give me any suggestions on what may be wrong with it, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you very much.

you might check the teeth on flywheel ring gear and starter for chips, bers or deformites. just my thoughts. good luck, d.coleman

If the clicking sounds like arcing and sparking, it is time to rebuild the starter.

Probably the starter drive needs replaced.
