4020 Synco Stuck

I have a 66 4020 and the transmission is stuck between 3 and park not real sure how that happened but now cannot shift it anywhere tried to rock the tractor with the loader but that didn't help either so is there a simple way to get the shifter to move again?

Has the tractor been towed lately? Even for a short distance?
You might try disconnecting the shift rods and try moving each shift lever.Could be the shift quadrant under the dash needs rebuilt.

The shift rods go from shift quadrant down RH side of trans. Remove cotterpins and remove from shift levers. I think I'd try to jack up one rear wheel first and see if shifter will free up.

Pull the dash cowl off and try to get to the pin at the clevis. Like MSB stated it could be that the shifter is worn enough to have stuck on the "latch" ,,removeing the snap ring holding the shifter drum will also let them un-bind,,if that is the problem,,Hopefully the top shaft is not gualded,,but it's a posability...

When the linkage gets worn, jamming is common. Usually all you have to do is jerk on the levers where they are attached to the trans - to "unstick" it. Sometimes both get pulled at once and that causes a jam.

My neighbor has two 4020s and one 3020. All with SR and all get jammed now and then. Take 30 seconds to fix. He's used to it and never jams them. But everytime someone new drives one of them, they get jammed.

Thank you for all your help, it turned out to be the shift station on the dash was stuck just have to remove the snap ring and realign everything.

You need to shim up the shifter or it will more than likely do it again. also look closely for wear on the part that moves from side to side when ranges are changed. part # R52882 LATCH
