4020 tire sizes

I have the standard 18.4 x 34 tires on my 4020 and they are showing their age. That size tire doesn't seem common or cheap. Are there any similar tires that will fit that are more common/cheaper? This tractor doesn't do any tillage work just a loader tractor. Thanks

The 18.4 X 34 is a VERY common size. My 4020 has the 16.9 X 38 bias tires on it.

18.4 34 and 15.5 38 have to be about the most common two sizes you'll ever come across.

There are no cheap tractor tire sizes right now.

The 16.9x38 is a nice size but would require step up rims or 38 castings. 18.4x34 are most common on 4020. In 71/72 18.4x38 were offered along with 20'8x34 [hard to find] If factory cab equipped there is room if not the big fenders in my opinion look a little large but were available. I would think least cost would be 18.4x34. I just bought 2 SATII for $880 a piece mounted. Tires have increased about 20% in last year. People are wearing their old ones out.

18.4x34 is very common. Look on antique tractor pulling pages, tires are a hot commodity and are constantly for sale. If you are shopping in pulling circles, the 18.4x34 will be cheaper than 18.4x38, but I wouldn't be surprised to see asking prices on 18.4x34 in the $4-600 range, more if they are really nice.

Thanks for the education. I didn't think 18.4-34 looked common when I was looking around the internet. Haven't stopped by any local tire shops yet but I'm sure that is where I will end up after I finish wearing out this set.

If I still owned my tire shop, 18.4x34 6 ply tires would cost you 673.00 each + tubes.
