4020 transmission weight

Hi everyone,

I posted a while back with my new to me JD600. I'd like to put a pto and 3pt on her. I found a complete powershift transmission with the control console. I'll post a picture if it will let me. My question is, how much do you think those parts weigh? I looked it up in the parts catalog and the transmission case alone is 860lb. I figure that's probably the single heaviest component.

Can I put it in the back of a stock trailer? Maybe with a sheet of thick plywood under it? Or do I need to take an actual flatbed trailer out to get it? Or should I bite the bullet and have it shipped?

Many thanks,

Conor

not knowing your situation as far as time and travel distance, i would personally pick it up if i was you if feasable. mainly to supervise loading, to prevent damage. i dont nkow how you would load that on an enclosed stock trailer to get correct weight distribution for hauling. there fore flat bed seems best.
