I have a 4020 thats making a whining knocking sound. When you use the hydros it goes away but when the 3 point arms r up and your not using the hydros then the whining knock comes back? any ideas do u think it motor related or hydro pump related?

Check the coupler between the engine and pump. Bushings are replaceable, splines could be worn.

Many operators have thought they had an engine noise when it it turned out to be a worn hyd pump drive coupler or bushings.
