4020d and 4010d tank the same?

My 4020d fuel tank has a leak on the bottom(a hole). I wanted to make sure I could switch to the tank from my 4010 parts tractor are they compatible? I don't think that that tank has any problems. Thanks

I have not done it but I'm sure they are the same..

Check parts numbers.
4010 might not have drain.
I think they will fit though.

Factory 4010 tank doesn't have a drain but 4020 tank does. According to JD parts the tank will fit the following tractors.

4010 Tractor - 16May11
4020 (S.N. -200,999) Tractor - 16May11
JD600 Tractor - 02Nov06
4000 and 4020 (s.n. 201,000- ) Tractors - 20May11

Might be farther ahead to solder a patch on your original one ?
The other tank is even older and may not be much different shape.
