49Case

Trying to find out some info on a 40 LP. Cant find any literature showing that a 40 LP was produced. Can someone help with any info?? Thanks

There were no 40LP tractors produced!Several companies produced aftermarket kits. First factory Dubuque LP's were phase III 420's.

Were the after market kits made to look factory original? I would assume aftermarket kits would have different part numbers? Thanks

I can't speak for the 40 but there was a company or companies that you could send your tractor to, or have it sent straight from the factory there. They would convert them to LP and it looked like it came from Deere as factory equipment as far as fit and finish were concerned. I have read where people swore their grandpa's A or G was ordered from the factory as LP. Most likely this is what happened as one guy said the local Deere dealer ordered his grandpa's tractor (A or G don't recall which.). Also M Farmalls were done this way. Maybe others also.
I don't see how the parts could look original as the original parts were not made yet. Looks like they would have to have their own parts number if the 40 didn't come with an LP option.
