The left lift cylinder on my 411 moco will not raise the cutter . We have switched tractors , switched ends , bled all of the air , and re-phased the system . We took the cylinder off and even with the bleeder and hose off it will not extend . It was put away working .We hooked the cylinder directly to the tractor and it still will not extend . Oil is not bypassing the cylinder and there is no way it got bent . Any ideas ? Also how do you tear this cylinder down ? It has no visible snap rings.

Are the remote tips the same as before? Did you try different hoses (hence tops) on the cylinder...not just a different tractor.

Go to the New Holland website and you can look it up in the parts section where it shows the cylinder break down. There are several different cylinders used by the way. If it is in fact getting oil, then the port must be plugged with foreign material or the the packing some how it covering the port.

On the New Holland cylinders I've worked on, the head needs to be pushed down into the cylinder a fraction of an inch to expose an internal snap ring.

Have you tried some gentle brute force? Since the cylinder is off the machine, chain one end to a tree, chain the other end to a tractor, and give it a gentle tug.

Have you also tried a different hose? Hydraulic hoses can sometimes collapse internally creating a check valve that prevents oil from flowing.
