4230 shifting problems

I have a 4230 John Deere with a quad range. After using it for 15- 20 minutes I lose hydraulic functions and it starts slipping in 1 and 3 gears and makes a whine. Worried a split is inevitable but if I do I want to make sure I fix the correct problem. I’m leaning towards the 2 speed but what about the clamp on a hose I’ve read about? Also what kind of test do I need to do before splitting my? Thanks for y’all’s help.

STOP running it and do a thorough diagnosis following the factory shop manual. A likely scenario is that the brake linings have deteriorated and the debris has plugged the transmission pump screen. That pump supplies the clutch and quad range operating pressure and the charge oil to the main/front hydraulic pump.

Sounds like the ""low side" of the quad range planetary unit has a big time "leak to sump".

I'll say it again, there's no substitute for the factory Tech Manual and the diagnostic trees it illustrates.

Sounds typical for failed tube clamp on hyd hi-lo body.
