4230 STEERING VALVE?

TDS 101

New User
Posted awhile back about issues with steering, the tractor would not steer left, this tractor has the old style valve. I had the valve overhauled at a dealer and it steers very good, except it only turns left about 3/4 ways. I just got done bleeding it by the book four or five times. During the process it would steer both ways correctly, but when we get done the problem is still there. So what do I do now?

It seems that there must still be an issue in the valve,,Darn it, wish you were closer I would put it on my test bench

Me too Tim, me too. Sounds like another trip to the dealer. O, the last time I posted about this I think you said you were getting $ 350,the bill from Deere was $ 550. Just a little FYI. Thank you guys

Yes I run about half price to a dealer, and try to do twice as good of work,,I don"t have a lot of over head here, I would not be able to guess what it cost to turn the key at one of these new High class dealerships..If you had a way to ship it I would be glad to straighten it out for you...I had one off a 4230 a couple years ago (before I built this test bench) that i had to re-adjust 3 times till I got it right,,it was a real stinker....now I know what is going on right on the bench, this has worked out way better than I expected...
