Tractor is running . Had weak spark so cleaned everything up and achieved good blue spark at plugs but still no start . Checked fuel and was getting fuel to bowl . Gave it a shot of ether and ran good for few seconds which eliminated timing or electrical issues . Pulled disassembled and cleaned carb but waited and waited and waited for new gasket to BE SHIPPED TO ME . While waiting I decided to put on new spark plug wires as the old ones had some cracked terminals . Gasket arrived and I reassembled carb and put on tractor . It would not try to start . Frustrated !! I went back to electrical and discovered I had current from coil to cap but it would not conduct through center terminal on cap . There was no visible damage to cap but I retrieved an old cap from my barn and replaced cap . Tractor started and ran well . I suppose I somehow fdamaged cap in process of replacing plug wires and installing them . Thanks to all who offered suggestions .
