4240 - Brazke lights?

Would a 4240 (with SG cab) have brake lights. I didn't see it mentioned in the manual and as far as I could tell they didn't illuminate when pressing the pedals. I got my light receptacle all hooked up by tying into the wiring under the right front cab, grounded it where the bracket bolts to the scv. All is working, would like to have brake lights if the tractor is wired for them. Thanks.

They are not wired for brake lights- never heard of any tractor that was. Now, markets in Europe- wouldn"t be surprised.

Never heard of a tractor with brake lights either, though they wouldn't be that hard to add.
Tractors move so slow that when sane people see one ahead of them on the road complete with flashing warning lights and SMV sign they know enough to start braking.

Only tractors built for European sales had brake lights. Switch is parts key 32

Are you inquiring about tractors built for European sales? If so I think brake lights illuminate any time brake pedal is depressed.

OK, that's what I figured. This is a Waterloo built tractor. Thanks for the info guys.

4240 tractors built for N. American sales use 1157 bulbs which could be used for tail & brake lights but wiring I think is not included.

They are all Waterloo built. The ones that went overseas were modified there.
Your tail lights should already have two wires and a two filament bulb. Look at the connector under the fender.
Make another wire and run it along the other wire.
Use the switch parts Tx Jim showed you.
The brake lights will work without the lights being on.

I updated the 1640 to brake lights with the pressure switch txlim provided. It brings on the flashers solid when ever the left brake pedal is pushed.
There are a couple more of those pressure switches kicking around here. I was always going to get around to upgrading the 2355 and 4050 with brake lights.
