4240 engine oil pressure

Went to move the 4240 today and noticed the engine oil pressure seemed low. Normally the pressure about pegged the meter until it got warmed up. Today it went up slowly and only got less then half way. It was out of the red, but wasn't like normal.

Dad put almost all the hours (120) this year since I changed the oil in the Spring. I asked him, but didn't recall noticing the oil pressure low, or even recall looking at the gauge. I've always used John deere filter and oil.

I'm going to pull the oil sender off and put a manual pressure guage on it. What should the pressure be?

The engine sounds good, and only has 4300 hrs, so I'm hoping this is nothing serious.

Thanks.

Normal oil pressure at operating temp & rpm should be 40-55 psi

Put a new gauge on. When warmed up(blowing hot air in cab) idle pressure was 41-42 when close to pto speed almost 50 psig.

I put the sender back on and it is barely above the red when at idle.

Sounds like a bad sender?

Trying to attach pics, again.

Here is what the gauge looks like.

Not a green one but I finally plumbed a manual gauge on the end of a hose on my 1086 and put the gauge right outside the lower right cab window. The electric gauge scared the bejeebies out of me too many times.
