it ant work in 2 years replace it with a new last year so why will it still start in gear wood like to try and fix before some happens cause my dad has left in gear before and I dent know start it in gear it is a qud range we had the pto out of it on the left side about 2 years ago wood that have any thing to do with it

Wires have been jumped or have shorted together.

has the replacement safety switch been put in correctly .
They usually have a plastic tool to measure the shims needed ,to get the right distance in or out when screwing the switch in.

no jump wires it has the right sims I no it after the pto vale was than out under battery box and step

shims or no shims if it starts in gear with a new switch there is a short in the wire harness or the starter wire is on wrong,,follow and check the wiring, it sounds like it will start even if the switch is un-pluged, which points the trouble up-stream...
