hey guys. got a 4240 with a hydraulic seat in it. was last year and hit a hole and the seat went out. just bottomed out and quit working. well last week same thing happend and went back to working fine. now did the hole or ruff spot again and it quit again. anyone know whats causing this. i know its not the canister or it wouldnt have worked at all. i have had some other hydraulic issues as of late but everything is working normally.

we just replaced the old hydraulic suspensions in our 4640's with an air ride suspension kit from Grammer. They make a kit with instructions and adapter plate to fit perfectly.
Went in very easy and works so much better than the old hydraulic. It was well worth the time and money to replace them and there is less moving parts to maintain.

Maybe there is some part of the seat frame that is loose and jamming it up when it gets bumped just right, or maybe some stray tools under the cushion in the cab are interfering with it...

yeah the lever goes up and down fine. and the seat is free. i can pick the heavy thing up with no binds. when it went back to working it worked great. where does it get its hydraulics from? i dont want to tackle much on it just because it looks like a pain the rear to get to it. my hydraulics have become weaker on tractor as of late and afraid i have the main pump going on me. but wouldnt think that would affect seat any since i can still run loader and everything else.
