What do I need to put a turbo on a 4240? I know the intake and exhaust manifolds are different than a 4440 and would most likely need those. I think M&W used to make a kit to do this but I think they are no longer available. I imagine the intake piping would be different too. Any idea how to do it for the least amount of money?

What would be a safe HP if I manage to get it done? I am thinking about 125 considering the two pinion differential. I know the engine is also a little different than a 4440 but I think the engine could handle that much.

You just have to reuse 4430 parts. They fit like factory. Then you have the right exhaust elbow.
4240 with turbo runs very well. Friend has one.

4240 has 4430 hood
4440 has 4630 hood

They work well with a 4440 turbo, and will live a good life with 140 HP,,they are the same as a 4440 from the clutch housing back. use 4440 manifolds and oil piping, use a 4320 elbow and make the turbo to elbow coupling,, very much like the kits I use for 4020's I can help you with it when your ready ([email protected])

The 4440 exhaust elbow has a support cast in it for the air filter and the hydraulic. That is the only part that you.need to get from 4430 or modify.

TX JIM, rear side panel is AR82258 for both and front screens are AR65460 for both.
For sure factory turbo.will fit. I will show you pictures od my friends 4240 turbo.

Several have been put on in our area with no problems and also 4040s Pretty much bolt on.It really wakes them up even at 140H.P. The M&W fit nicely but are more expensive and they are 60s technology and in our experience the RayJay turbo is limited on boost! We took a used one off and tried a near new one still 12# boost

mw had a funny wedge thing relocating water manifold looked silly to me. But they worked well. It was always my favorite tractor, more compression and better low end. mine could run hot. The power across the board was always really good with that set up. There are still a few of them left around here, but most lived long trouble free lives. With all the salvage yardsnow, i would hope a 4430 or a combine manifold would be easily attained.
