430 exhaust

just bought a 430 the exhaust comes out beside the hood. Is this correct? if so where can i buy a flange that turns up this one looks homeade

Are you talking about the farm tractor or mower tractor? I have a 59 430U farm tractor with the horrizontal exhaust. It goes down at about 45% angle, muffler hooks to manifold, and pipe off of it goes under lh footrest to back. someone may have done a "farmer" conversion to vertical exhaust and run it out and up next to hood. Proper way wopuld be different manifold. There is a covered hole in the hood to run the exhaust pipe up through. I think those horrizontal exhaust manifolds are harder to find than the regular one so you could probably trade for correct one. I see them on adds here used and believe YTD tractors has new ones also.
