I;m overhauling my 430 and plan on putting a 35 loader on it.When I took apart the hydraulic pump there was wear on the center section of the pump where the gears lay flat against it,there's also wear on the center section where the end of the pump gears have rubbed against the outside edge of the center section, about .065 gap There is also .065 gap between the idler and drive shafts that both sit in needle bearings. Is this to much clearence for good pressure? Manual says 900 psi.I did'nt do a pressure check before hand.JD wants $500 per gear and $600 for a new center section. Does anyone make aftermarket pumps or parts these tractors? thanks

Access to a surface grinder?

I have a 430 with a #35 loader, great combination but you will wish you had power steering if you don't. The 35 is made to go on and off easily if you have the stands. My 430 has had a lot of loader use over it's life, it worked at a chicken farm. I know my pump is worn also, not sure how much, at one time you could get the sides of the pump which is where the wear is. My loader isn't fast, but lifts good, I have thought of putting an auxillary pump on the front of the tractor, run off of the crankshaft to run the loader so it would work faster. The pump isn't that hard to get to after you fix the rest of the tractor so you might wait and see how it works.

Funny, I cracked open the Hyd pump on my 420 just yesterday.

Luckily, wear was minimal, as the unit only had about 1,000hrs on it.

Anyhow, as stated before. Locate a REAL machine shop in your area, and someone who can run a surface grinder. Shouldnt cost more than an hours worth of labor.

Or, find a local place that rebuilds hyd pumps.
