434cCarburator Rebuild

I have an International 434 British built with a bc144 down draft carburator. The tractor had been sitting for several years with the intake uncovered. I have it completely torn down with the exception of the accelerator pump piston that seems to be frozen in place and cannot get it out. Any thoughts on how to remove it or any other options?
Also, any thoughts as to how i might clean up the carburator body?

Thanks!

A photo of what you have going on would be extremely helpful. Maybe place it in a boiling vinegar solution?

An ultrasonic cleaner with vinegar or any one of a number of cleaners that are available to use.
