44 massey gas engine

Father in law has gas 4 cyl that is fouling up plugs, he says he wants to find a new head for it that may have been recently rebuilt. The tub and loader to this set up is apparently a 303 industrial that he had switched rear end, motor, transmission and rad from a donor 44. He thinks it s a continental motor but how can we tell for sure? Had a guy tell me he has a head for it and has "B556" casted into it, on our head we find nothing. Is there different markings between the continential gas and massey harris gas motors?
Thank you

Continental built engines for MH, at the right front or rear block area just below the head should be the engine size info. I DOUBT the head will stop the plug fouling, more than likely the rings, ESPECIALLY the oil rings are shot..

I would agree with Diesel Tech, fouling is probably coming up oast the rings.

Oil washes clean where touches, look at the top edges on the piston, they will be clean if oil coming up.
