I am looking at purchasing a MH 44 and know nothing about them. We have several brands of tractors but not a Massey yet. Would like to add one to the stable. Does the 44 have live hydraulic and/or live PTO? Also was wondering if they ever had power steering available.
Thanks

Most of the 44's had live hydraulics. A few had a live PTO, not to common, however. There was an aftermarket power steering available from Char-Lynn.

Hi Rick, The 44's were a great tractor-remember
tho, could be 60 yrs old. The later 44's and the
44special had a live PTO avail. It was a hand
clutch with long lever on the RH side by the
brake pedals. Not the greatest setup but worked.
The 44 low gear was a little fast and many would
"ride" the hand clutch to operate slower on a PTO
combine or baler and shorten the life of it. Also
a tractor with this would have disc brakes. P.S.
was avail from many suppliers. Chuck

We just came into a MH that has 44-GR 5692 on the painted over plate.
Should this be a regular Model 44 or is this another type of model 44?

Thanks,

It appears this one has a bad rod. Does anyone know what size the crank journal (#4) is supposed to be (stock)?

Thanks again.
