440 pressure plate

Having problem bolting engine to bellhousing. With clutch aligned and throw out bearing in, block lacks about an inch from bolting up. With throw out bearing out of tractor, engine bolts up. Auburn pressure plate patent number is 1885301-2214780. Not sure if this is the correct pressure plate. Any help would be appreciated.
Also wonder if there is a part number stamped on the flywheel anywhere?
