Hello everyone, i am wondering if someone can help, my neighbour has a 4400 versatile swather with the waukesha diesel VRD220A motor, his injection pump went so he had another one to put on but when he pulled it off he never timed or marked the gear and now i am looking for some help on how to time this pump to the engine. On the flywheel it has TDC marks and on the pump gear it has a dot but on the drive gear there is no marking to line up with the dot on the pump gear. If anyone has a timing procedure for this machine that would be great.

Thank you

Im having the same issue with a 4400 diesel. , a freind called me and he put his rebuilt pump on with the lines together on pump markings and flywheel at TDC,
There is fuel coming at injectors but will not start. I think he is missing a step. Any ideas?

Makes no difference if u line up the marks before or after pulling the pump. But u must have #1 cylinder at TDC on compression. What pump is that ? The Rosa master ? Not familiar with that Waukesha other than the ones in Cockshutt tractors. Better find a manual.
