4430 hydraulics

Hi guys. I was part of our neighborhood rallying around my neighbor who got hit by a car while driving his tractor home. He survived luckily, but pretty busted up. Hes a great man and been there a lot for me. Another neighbor found a local to donate his self propelled chopper and time to get the corn chopped. It was an awesome experience. Anyway, I was pulling a big 3 axle 24foot box with my 4430. It pulled it fine. To unload it used an orbital hydraulic motor to run the apron chain out the back door. My 4430 wouldnt turn the motor when the box was full. So we unhooked and tried a 4240 and that worked. My question is does the 4240 have a bigger pump? I brought the 4430 home and hooked it up to the stalk chopper with a gauge on the hose. It pegged the gauge at 2,100 psi when the hydraulic cylinder bottomed out. It was at about 3or400 psi as the stalk chopper was raising. Is raised fine and at normal speed. The brakes, steering and 3 pt all seem fine. What do you all think? What pressure should that pump put out? Thanks in advance for your help.

Probably could adjust the relief valve up to 2400 psi wouldnt much higher. 2100 psi is a little low was the pressure checked when oil was at operating temperature 160-180 degrees? Also wont hurt to run it on a flow meter to check G.P.M so you know what the pump is putting out. On the silage box your tractor probably has enough flow but not enough pressure to get the hydraulic motor to turn.

How many hrs of use since hyd filter was changed & hyd oil suction screen checked/cleaned? I agree you should check stand-by pressure with a gauge.

Factory stand-by pressure is 2250 psi & I was taught yrs ago to not set hyd stand-by above 2400 psi but I guess that maximum setting has been raised higher.
