4430 injectors

I have a miss in my 4430, and want to replace the injectors, or get them rebuilt. Use the tractor daily, what is the best way to do it? Also, WHere is the best place to get them rebuilt in eastern Iowa?

What do I need to know to pull them. Looks like lines and then they are like a Y shape, so does the top come off? or pull the whole thing?

Thanks in advance

You MIGHT have a broken delivery valve gasket in the injection pump, gasket seals the high pressure side from the low pressure gallery. Easily checked by removing the
injection lines at pump, then operate the hand primer. There should be NO fuel come out each delivery valve outlet, if there is that cylinder has a broken gasket. Another
cause can be the plunger control sleeves, if high on hours the sleeves that control each plunger rotation will be worn, causing erratic uneven fuel delivery.

I agree with Dieseltech ,,since your tractor has the "Y" type injectors it is an early serial number unit,,and most likely has High hours, it would be best to service both pump and injectors,,and then I wonder about when it was O/H'd last...if ever,,poor compression will also figure in to all this..

Well the Engine, injectors, and pump were all rebuild about 500 hours ago. The problem was that was 20 years ago. Tractor sat after being ran for about 300 hours, and then I bought it two years ago and put about 200 hours on it. now it has a miss. I would think it is just and injector, that got some crap when I changed the fuel filters a few weeks ago.

It starts strong, and pulls awesome. 20.8 x38 rears, that puts the power to the ground. I would say it is about 150 hp. THe Bad it blows blue smoke, allways have, figure that is some dry seals, and it only does it when it is cold or missing. I can get it on a hard pull and the miss sometimes goes away.

Does this help at all?????
