4430 Power Beyond

My understanding is you need power beyond block to run loader on joystick without remotes. My buddy tells me his 4955 and his 4440 will run air planters continuously without remote or power beyond block without using SCV's. I know we had an adapter to go into side of scv's that I thought was for return, but still used scv for pressure. There is no port on side of scv on 30 or 40 series for pressure is there?

No,, you can return through the side,,but if the return can not keep up it is possible to crack the housing,, the Power beyond spacer is the safest way to deal with a loader

The SCV housing,,if the oil can't get away fast enough it builds pressure in the inner rear part of the SCV,,it is hollow and will not deal with much pressure at all..usually cracks them in the lower corner towards the back..

General consensus seems to be that you're better tee-ing the return line into the rockshaft return, so it's going to the filter anyhow - won't starve the pump as easy that way.

Photo below shows how JD engineers thought 50 & 55 series tractor ind valve for 148,158 & 168 loaders should be attached to hyd system. Way back when I had a 158 on my 4255 I had return oil from JS valve routed to sump(frt of RS housing) with no loader operating problems/

Deere still sold porter filter covers and power beyond blocks for SCV’s into the 50,55 and 60 series for a reason .

You're correct but their engineers also thought other ways to supply/return hyd pressure were just fine also. FYI T31170 ported filter cover isn't listed the 50 or 55 series parts catalog. I'll bet the 2 section ported filter cover for 30 series was fun to get sealed correctly with no leaks.

This allowed for the longer filter,, I have not had one in here yet,,and it looks like it would be Ornery to seal up..

You probably need to glue the inner one to the trans casing with JBWeld and then install the filter and never touch it again.
