444 grill color

can anyone tell me what the original color the screen was on a 444, I have seen several pictures that have them painted yellow. I just took the screen out of the 444 I'm restoring and behind the bars theres yellow paint, however this tractor at some point has been repainted with a broom or something. I always thought the screen was bronze like the engine, just want it to be right thanks

As far as I know,it was the same color as the body.Massey did something with that paint color,that I haven't and haven't seen anybody else do that color the same as original was.Close but no cigar.Good luck in what ever Paint you use.

Screen was yellow from the factory, bronze ended at the fan blade.

We may have a play on words,and I misstated my wording on the engine vs grill screen.The grill screen was a GOLD color,NEVER YELLOW as some I have seen at shows.I still have 2 from 1956-57 and they never were yellow when new,plus all the others that have faded out.
