Does anybody have an old lift cylinder for a John Deere 45 loader?
I don't need the whole cylinder, just the end casting, Part #8090-C. (PC484)
I may be able to fix mine, but I would prefer a different one.
The end of the rod was welded on mine and when it broke again the weld went through the casting, cutting a trench.
Thanks for looking.

I think you should be needing 8290C not 8090C. When seeking JD parts normally one does not include spaces in part #s

Thanks Tx Jim
You are 100% correct!
The 80 was a typo and I don't have a clue as to why I used the dash. I should have known better.
I hate the idea of machining a new insides for the casting, but if I can't find one, that is what I will do. I think a buddy of mine can
weld cast, so I may contact him for help.

Those old #45 loaders only sell for a couple of hundred dollars complete. Would it be cheaper and require far less labor to buy a second loader to use for parts and swap out one complete cylinder, or just use the second loader?

Yeah, I know what you mean. Problem is I have been looking for one locally for a few years now. I see them for sale in other states, but just don't feel like pulling a trailer that far just for the part. I offered to pay for the whole loader if a guy would take one of the cylinders off and ship it to me. Turned me down flat, saying he was trying to clean out some junk, not make more that he couldn't get rid of.
Thanks anyway for the comment.
I guess I'll just have to keep looking.
