Are the engine blocks in 450 Farmalls known for cracking?

No they are very stable. That said, the forces of heat from thermal meltdown, or frozen water, or thermal shock from pouring cold water in an overheated engine. will crack most cast iron. THey are not known for use related cracking. The diesel is however known for cracked heads related to stress caused by stopping a well worked engine without cooldown for 2 or three minutes. or working them hard before 2 to 3 minutes have gone by from a cold start.
