450 fuel tank

Another noob question....the gas tank on the 450 looks like it could be split to clean and line it, is it soldered, spot welded, or will it sit when i unbolt it from tractor?

I know it looks like that,but that's the same as welded, but you can clean them bye using a high pressure stem, and let them sit to dry out !! Then it can be lined.

They are SEAM WELDED and to my knowledge no way to open them up with out destroying them . To clean and line they use acid or caustic then nutrualizes let dry then seal, Steam cleaning will not get all the nooks and crannies .
