450 power on/off pull switch

Trying to figure out where a wire goes that comes off one side of the on/off power pull switch on my 450. One side of the switch has three wires coming off it that go to various components. The other side has just one wire coming off it that I found not connected to anything. My tractor is 12 volt alternator conversion w/solenoid-equipped starter circuit, and, has a push button to start rather than a key switch.

By the way,,,,,,, Thanks, Jossette, for posting the wiring diagram is a previous post. I'm just not sharp enough to factor in how push button application is wired vs. keyed switch.

From what you say sounds like the loose wire would go to the switch or to the battery in some way. The 3 wires need to be traced down to see where they go, but they probably go to lights or something like that and of course you need power in to make them work, but if the lights are 6 volts they will blow almost as soon as you turn on that switch if you hook it up

I already have power at the switch and the loose wire I'm referring to is only hot when the lever is pulled to the "on" position. All my lights are already 12volt.

You should have a wire that feeds battery voltage to one side of the push button switch, then there should another wire that goes from the push button switch to the small S terminal on the starter solenoid. There's only voltage on this wire when you push the start button or the engine would never stop cranking. One of those hot wires should be going to your ignition and there should not be any voltage when the switch is in the off position so your engine will stop. Hal

Loose wire may have gone to another light some place like may a dash light etc. If you don't need it I would just remove it and be done with it
