450 ta delete kit

Looking on getting advice on how to replace my worn TA
with a TA delete kit in my 450. I dont want to spend the
money on getting the TA replaced.

The kit costs (if you find one) will be 70% of a rebuilt TA. The cost of shop time will be the same. The loss of value will be the same or more than the savings of the kit. TAs are wonderful!! Jim

I found a kit for roughly $350 Im not using the tractor enough to justify rebuilding the TA. But cant find any info on how they get installed or any break downs of parts

To do the work in both cases requires a double split of the tractor Good solid splitting stands and a engine hoist to lift the center section. if it drives now it will likely continue to do so. There are YouTube how to. Jim

Does it pull in direct (high?). If so it will run virtually forever like that.

Worst case the TA clutch wears out, you can replace that with a single split, and just continue to operate it as if it has a TA delete.

Yes u can run it direct drive and probably have no issues. I have had some guys bring
the center section to have a TA unit installed, saves them lots of labor.

In your other post on this Pete23 told you what to do and you will not need to even buy a delete kit. In the linked parts diagram you remove parts 7-10 and reassemble the tractor. Those are the rollers and springs that lock up the one way clutch. You take them out and it eliminates it being hard to shift when you roll up an incline and then the tractor rolls back against the one way clutch. The as he said pull the levers off the pressure plate of the direct clutch so it stays engaged. The reason you hear about delete kits or shafts because they are needed to eliminate the TA in hydraulically shifted models like a 706 and larger tractors.

Don't know about the old mechanical TA's never had one that worked on one yet and never missed them. Always heard they were like cement. there are 2 kinds that that is already cracked and that that is going to.

In reality a TA is much more like a clutch or brake. They wear out but darn nice to have.
