I have a 1971 ford 4500 tlb. Thinking of replacing some pins and bushings. I just can't find them anywhere. when I find a bushing, it's like $43.00 per.
Anyone have any good bushing sources out there?

Seem to remember doing some about 8 years ago on mine. They were dealer new old stock and it took them a bit to find them. Cost lots more than $43 as IR.

If you can find a stock size bushing that fits from McMaster or MSC, that works. Use drill rod for the pins, drill & tap grease passages.

New Holland still lists a bunch in the parts sheet, but the prices are absurd far beyond what you mention (IIRC I paid ~$63 each for the Hoe Pivot pins and bushings (the big ones it swings on) back in 200? - more recently they were listing for $198 or $215) Try your dealer, online link to the parts catalog, industrial. If your dealer does not have a functional link, I know that Capital tractor in upstate NY does have a functional link. If you need hoe bushings, put in the hoe model (753, 755, or other), tractor 4500, loader 740.

Depending on amount of use, making (or modifying things you can buy reasonably to fit) your own unhardened parts on a lathe begins to look attractive for a low-hours-per-year/home use machine. Having hardened ones custom ground might even begin to look good at some of the prices they ask.
