new to me tractor has some missing parts. cast iron s tube carb to air cleaner. handcrank coupler under the radiator and the shutter assembly. also need rear tires 11.2-38 in good or better condition. did any of the 41' SC come with a distributor? thanks for any help. chuck 760-758-ten,twentyfive

Nope, they all came with Case mags. Due to the difficulty in getting parts for Case mags-parts are no longer made for them-a lot of Case letter series tractors of that and later vintages got a right-angle Delco distributor transplanted into them. That type of Delco was used by both AC & IH. Parts are readily available for them (old Chev 6 cylinder Delco points & condensers work) and they are a direct bolt on. Also, they are pretty bullet proof. We have Delco transplants on both an SC (2) & a DC (1). They have worked for years. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

wondered how long it would take for someone to spot the exhaust! no water in rear end. few drops of water in the bucket of sludge in the pan. engine is NOT stuck, so i figured i got my $300 worth.

Nice find! That one there is probably the closest I have seen to my SC serial-number-wise. I've got # 4501960SC.

Was at Biewer's Tractor Salvage in Barnesville, MN and they had a poor old SC (#4500561 - smooth block, long hood, LP) sitting in their back yard. It even had a special LP manifold on it which looked like OEM Case equipment to me. I felt sick to my stomach when I saw it, but it was in dire need of MANY parts (plus like most, it had a crack in the block behind the carb).

Lot's of work, and more money than I'd ever get out of it... But 10 years pecking away at it and piece by piece it came together!

Hey Chuck - you got me beat, mine is 4506010, not a center exhaust but I got one up on you - mine runs! What year did they go away from the disc type rear wheels? Looked for a pic of mine, will take one in a few days (leaving on a trip tomorrow)
