455 steering cylinder

I bought the aftermarket steering cylinder for my 455 mower and I can't get it to seal off where the hose screws into the threads so I took it to the Deere dealer and they put a new hose thinking that would solve the leak but it didn't so now I can either buy a new one from Deere for 600.00 or take a chance on getting screwed on returning the aftermarket one like I've done before, I still have the old one I removed so I guess it could be resealed but that's rolling the dice as well, so any ideas???
