Hey everyone
Im looking for a good solid
45 or 4786 tractor
Any help locating one would be appreciated
Thanks
Dugger

Good luck i ain't see one as have been looking for something in the 225 -300 Hp range myself and have scoured from the East coast to western Neb . . missed a ST 251 Steiger only because it went 6 grand more then what the piggy bank had in it.

Do you ever web search those models? Two 4586s at
the link on Tractor House. One is a Cummins repower
which probably helps it fit into the ..solid.. category,
but it has a custom black paint job..love or hate. The
other is a pimped up job for $22,500 in AZ. No 47s
found. You were probably looking for one with the
gentleman that could tell you all about it as he wore
the steering wheel smooth over its lifetime.
Poke here

If you want a goo do old dependable 4wheeler with lots of iron go get an old Stieger. Heavier tractor better engines if you stay out of the v-8 models. The ST-280 model will have the 3406 Cat engine or the Cummins in it. The Cat is a bullet proof engine with reasonable care. I would prefer the Cat over the Cummins. We have 2 cougars. One is the old short hood the other we put a 3406 in since the 3306 had bad bearings and crank in it. Got less than 12,000 in both of them. If your looking for present day hydraulics on them that is not there. Around 2000 PSI not the 2500-3000 of today's tractors.

Well Ive owned a45 and put 10,000 hours on it
Never had any problems
I want one for nostalgic reason plus farm some with it
Nothing wrong with the v800 if you take care of them
Thanks

HEy with them you can make them into a modern day tractor with a closed center hyd and 40 GPM and your 2500-3000 Psi system and you can CHANGE transmissions to suit since they are a COMPONENT tractor . we would love to find a PT 225 with three point and PTO someplace close that we did not have to spend more in trucking then what the tractor cost . Be nice for the chisel / ripper , yea the 1066 will haul it on the flats and down the hills but not up due to lack of traction not Hp . Myself i prefer the 855 cummins since they are easy to rebuild , i have ALL the tools for Cummins and i can make and 855 stand up and talk ,ya want one pony power per cube i can do that and it does not take and arm , leg and first born to do one .
