460 gas overbore kit

I've looked into making a C221 a C263 for about 5 minutes, it looked like it needed the crank, rods, and pistons to start. My understanding is its the same bore but a stroke improvement. I'm not sure if the C221 block can handle the additional pin radius of the stroker crank. With ~20% more displacement its likely a carb change. Then there's the question of whether the 460 back end can handle ~20% more torque. I gave up right there.

Several have been changed to a 263. You need a crankshaft and new pistons. Rods are same, block is same, carburetor would need some changes for best performance. Ignition is same, head is same.

Right. The difference between the C221 and the C263 is STROKE, not bore.

It's not until you go to the C291 that the bore increases. Unfortunately you can't use the pistons and sleeves from a C291 as an "overbore kit" for your C221, because the wrist pins are in the wrong place on the pistons for the short-stroke C221 crank.

The C301 is a "parent bore" engine, meaning the pistons run directly in the block, not in replaceable sleeves. On those, options are limited for rebuilding.

Just getting the C221 engine back to original spec will give you a significant increase in power. You don't know how much power the engine has because you have been working with a tired engine.
