hey guys just wondering where I can get a original matching set of piston rings for my 221 gas, just looking to re-ring my old pistons. my local ih dealer says they are discontinued and I ordered a set from a&i and aren't happy with how they look, just being 3 solid rings. looking for a set with the 3 pc bottom ring. any help would be appreciated.

The 460 originally had a one piece oil ring with expander. Service rings were three piece with rails. Then they went back to a one piece oil ring. If the bore is good , the one piece usually gives better service but a three piece with rails will follow a worn tapered bore better. They also used a perflon coated expander on the three piece ring for a few years but that proved to be short lived. Barrel faced top ring, taper faced second ring and solid one piece oil ring. But, now days, who knows what you get.
