I just purchased a international 460 utility
My question is how big of a disc do we think it can pull? I'm looking at a 12foot disc currently. Is that to large? Can I go bigger?

Not bigger, but maybe smaller. three dependent concepts. Soil type, depth of cut, and the soil condition. If you want to smooth after plowing in original sod and heavy clay 10 foot is better. if chopping up stalks or light sandy loam 12 will work it. Jim

The 12' might be a bit big for it. I have a 10' that could give my Farmall 460 a good workout in sand. It knew when the 12' spring tooth was behind it. I could combine the two & finish a field with ease, but that's with both tools set shallow.

10 ft if your going to actually work the field. if on stubble yes it will pull 12-14 ft , but the disc's are riding on top and hardly cutting. in plowed ground 12 ft is too much. , need a 560 for that.
