I am looking for a power steering pump for my 1978 4600. The original pump # is D8NN3K514EA. Looking on this website I can find a part #E6NN3K514EA Are they the same?
I also have a 4610 with Pump # E0NN3K514CB would these all work with the pump I see on YT which is the E6NN3K514EA? Thank You

All of those pumps are interchangeable. The only differences might be the relief valve setting. In the prior series, the 2000/3000 used a 650 psi relief valve. The 4000 used an 850 psi pump and the 5000/7000 use an 1100 psi pump. I know that they eventually migrated to 1100 psi on just about everything in later years, but I'm not sure exactly when the various series did that. My '73 4000 has the same steering setup as your 4600, and the 850 psi pump is more than enough. I can spin the steering wheel from full left to full right and back again with one finger with the tractor standing still, even with a full load in front loader bucket.

Never saw a Ford tractor that could do that. You sure you're not confusing that experience with a JD?

What can I say. That's how my '73 4000 power steering works. It's the later style with the cylinder inside the column.
