47 ih baler

I have a 47 ih baler that worked like it should for several years. But this year it would not tie on the left side would not cut the twine. I sharpened the twine knife did not help.I changed knife with another knife.the knotter would cacth the twine to make a knot but would just untie. i think either the twine hold is out of time or the knotters are.I have a book that tells how to rest every thing. Anyone have an idea about resting the machine.I use plastic twine and have for several years with no problems. Maybe it is trying to tell its time for both of us give it up.Iam 80 years young and still do the hay by my self.

What book do you have? It should be addressing those two problems directly. One is the twine knife is too low, the other is insufficient tension on the bill hook.

Don’t give up, with a little information You can get the baler going .
Can you try new twine , just acthought .
