The drags are not supposed to be the same length.

Even though you say you have a 1948 model (should have the early box if original), it appears you have a later style box.

If you have the late box,the right side draglink will be approx. 36-1/2 long and the left side approx. 38-1/2 long.

If you have the early box the right side should be about 38 long and the left side about 37.

If you go to the archives, you can find a bunch of info on making adjustments.

Good luck----Tim

I just finished looking thru the archives and am still stuck I can not for the life of me get it to line up right. it seems like one tire or the other is crooked when i try to change it. I have a 48 so i thought i should have the chisle marks but i have yet to see them. I am pretty sure that this style is a keyed end so anyone have a pic of approx where the ends should be for a reference point

The 32.80 tube goes on the right. The 34.5 tube goes on the left.[sitting on tractor seat]Did you install 8n3270 tie rods on the front and NAA 33271 tie rods on the rear.If the box is timed correctly, you should have no problem. don b

David, swap the drag links as Don suggested.

Don't worry about the marks on the axle. Center the Pitman arms - Both should be pointing rearward and parallel to each other. Toe in is correct when the leading edge of the tires are 1/4" closer than the trailing edge.
