48 vs 42 deck on a CC

I have a perfectly good running CC2155 with a 15hp Kohler and a 42" deck. I have a CC2185 with a 18hp Kohler and a 48" deck. The 2185 has a good engine, but needs the pto clutch, some wiring, most of the sheet metal, etc, cost most that it might be worth to fix and I could use the engine on a log splitter I have. Would the 48" deck work on my 2155? Would it overload the engine? I can mow at a bit slower pace if that would help. It sure looks like it would fit, but have not tried, that 48" deck is heavy. Thanks

You don't have to cut the whole 48" when you cut,probably won't notice the difference anyway
