484 TA clutch replacement.

I am hoping some one can help me with how to replace the TA clutch in my 484. Or even share an schematic on the transmission so I can work out how this is done. I already have the tractor in half so any advice or help would be great.

No, which is part of my problem. The only manuals I have don't have the TA in them its like they have been built without it. I cant remember who. but I was told they just come out the front of the transmission. But hell I just don't know....
Hello Dave, greetings to the land-down-under, welcome to YT! It looks like the 484 was built in both a European version and a North American version. Initially I am finding the European versions were offered with a TA where the American version did not have that option. I will have to do some more research tomorrow in the manufacturers parts catalog to make sure I am providing proper information to you. I am looking at this on my iPhone and it’s software hasn’t been updated for a while, I think this is causing me trouble in accessing the CNHI manufacturers online parts catalog. Meanwhile I am looking at a parts catalog by a larger dealer in the US state of Pennsylvania. Their catalog “mirrors” the manufacturers version. I will link the page in their catalog that refers to the Europe version with the TA. However, if you look at the US version a very similar parts layout is shown for what is named the “forward/reverse section”

Hi Dave, welcome to YT. Are you sure the T/A High clutch is out? Have you checked the hydraulic pressures on the test ports on the bottom of the speed transmission? Does the tractor work properly in Low T/A?
Back in about 2004, my brother and I were going to replace the T/A in his 684, it would be the same as the 484. We bought the I&T Shop Service Manual for IH 684 for instructions. Unfortunately when time came to do the T/A job one of my coworkers got sick and I could not get the time off work so my brother took the 684 to a retired IH Mechanic that did the work.
