Hi wondering pros cons of 4755 or 4955
Turning, pot 540/1000, doing everything with basically one tractor
Or do u suggest a different model

Both those tractors are 1000 RPM PTO only. Very good tractors in general. If more than 5,000 hours find out if Power Shift has been rebuilt. Mechanic friend suggests the 5,000 hour check of PS pretty much regardless of make and model.

4755 and 4955 are large 1000 rpm only, primarily used for heavy tillage, pulling a large planter. If you need 540 pto and 140 horsepower, look for a 4455 but expect to pay dearly if it is mfwd and in good condition. Even a low houred 2wd 4455 will bring in the high 30's to low 40's

We are in the market for a 4455 as our 94 7800 is becoming an electrical nightmare now that it's past 10k hrs. Our neighbor has a MFWD 4455 that is turned up a bit and we have borrowed it a few times and I think it's a great machine. Yes, the 15 spd PS may come with a little maintainence, but believe me, compared to the cursed 19 spd in the 7800 it's cheap upkeep. The older 8 speed in the 30/40 series tractors may take less maintainence but also may take less power if you turn her up. If you can live without a powershift, the quad range in any 30-55 series is pretty much bulletproof. The downside is stopping to shift between ranges, but unless you are doing a lot of loader work and having to change speed more than a few mph while doing it, it isn't really a hassle. What is the biggest job you are going to ask of it? I would size the machine based on that. If you need the big hoss, by all means get it, but if a 44XX series with the pump tweaked a bit will do the job, it's a fair bit more maneuverable for the smaller jobs. Newer 7000 and 8000 series tractors are great machines for the first 10k hours from our experience, but after that the electronics have about had enough and aren't cheap to fix. If you plan to trade before that, a 7810 or 7820 is a heck of a tractor with the big 8.1 engine. And the 8000 series gives you the same features and more weight. The cab is certainly a big step up in driver comfort. But it all comes at a cost of course.
