50 carburetor issue

Well, I done done it today. Readjusting the float on my 50 today. Put the bowl back on and the stem broke. Been reading on how to repair. Pretty interesting ideas out there on how to fix. So I am looking for advice. Send it to someone and have it repaired or look for another carb?
What say you guys?

Send it out for repair , you broke it using to much arm strong, looks in very bad shape to begin with

Talked to popinjohn this morning. He is 6 weeks out.

There is a reason for that, he is that good. Your choice, maybe someone will be able to fix it tomorrow.

PopinJohn is not doing anything now had a very bad STROK said about 6 weeks no shop work

Sorry to hear that, hope he has someone trained to pick up the slack. He has done several carbs for me and went above and beyond my expectations.

I agree Pop n John would be the one to go with. Had no idea he had a heart attack but glad he's recuperating well. He does excellent work & is fair priced. He rebuilt my 60 carb about 4 yrs. ago and i couldn't ask for a better job. If you're in no big rush, maybe wait til he is back to work. I don't know anything about the other carb rebuilds out there.
