I am trying to pull a 3x14 international #16 plow with
this tractor and want to know if I need to purge old
hytran out of the system and what oil is recommended for
this hydraulic system . Thanks .

You are probably going to need a bigger tractor. A 50 will barely pull 2-14's around here. I don't think the hydraulic oil will be a problem. I don't worry about it when I change tractor brands.

I only want to work the snot out of it and thought it would do the job well , the plow don't have to be all the way down or do a good job of plowing ,just work the tractor.

2x14" in 3rd or 4th gear will work the snot out of it anywhere...!!

You won't have enough traction OR tractor to pull 3x14" with a 50...it would need a Power Block to stay in 2nd..

You will be in Creeper gear most all the time..

A JD 60 "All-Fuel" will not pull a 3x14" in 2nd gear if the plow is actually IN the ground..!!

Ron..

If you are in easy plowing ground it may just surprise you !
I pulled a 3 bottom with my late B. Soybean stubble IIRC ? on the slight uphill side had to drop to 2nd. on the down hill side could even get up into 4th.
I only tried it because the 2 bottom at the show was goofed up and you could see it was trying to pull sideways. Guys unhooked the 3 bottom from the D and I thought what the heck I'll give it a try. I think it surprised everyone that day especially the owners of the D ! LOL.
